La scène parfaite!
Inspirée par la spontanéité des jams de balcons de la Louisiane et par l'originalité des balcons et des ruelles typiques qui font le charme de Montréal, la Chasse-Balcon est une expérience unique. Des musiciens trad sillonnent la ville, violon sous le bras, et sautent de balcons en balcons pour donner un spectacle inoubliable.
Créé en 2014, le concept rassemblant des voisins autour d'un événement artistique se déroulant chez eux a connu un grand succès. La conceptrice, Catherine Planet, a tissé son projet pendant des années, à travers des études en sociologie et en communications, à l'Université du Québec à Montréal et en Louisiane.
Après une édition coup de coeur en 2015, à Montréal, l'événement n'a cessé de prendre de l'ampleur et fait rayonner Montréal internationalement.
D'autres municipalités ont manifesté leur désir de recevoir La Chasse-Balcon. Ainsi, les printemps sont consacrés à Montréal, et les automnes à différentes villes hôtesses.

Les Balcons
Balconies... the perfect stage!
Inspired by the spontaneity and liveliness of Louisiana porch jams, along with the originality and charm of Montreal’s balconies and alley-ways, la Chasse-Balcon is a unique musical experience. The group is composed of Trad musicians that move around the city with their fiddles, wandering from one balcony to another in order to offer a most unforgettable foot-tapping show.
Created in 2014, La Chasse-Balcon, as a concept of gathering neighbours together in a community artistic event, has been a successful one. Catherine Planet has been weaving this project for many years, while pursuing her studies in sociology and communications at the Université du Québec à Montréal and in Louisiana.
The first edition in Montreal was launched in 2015 to a resounding success. Since then, the show does not cease to attract the public’s attention whether it’s within the city’s confines or beyond. In December 2016, La Chasse-Balcon won the popular vote of the VIVA MTL contest in the "organization" category. The VIVA MTL contest, developed by the Mouvement Desjardins, was to reward the individuals who demonstrate a commitment in making their neighbourhood shine and who are a source of pride to their fellow citizens.
Other cities have also shown interest in hosting La Chasse-Balcon. While the Spring season is reserved for Montreal, the Fall is now open to other municipalities.
